Heritage Society

The Heritage Society honors alumni, friends, faculty and staff who support the George Washington University through a bequest intention, charitable gift annuity, charitable trust or other planned giving.

In gratitude for that generosity, the University spotlights the philanthropic leadership of society members in publications. They are also recognized at special events, including a luncheon in their honor each May and a festive holiday tea in December.

If you are considering including GW in your estate plan, please share our Sample Bequest Language with your estate planning attorney. Once you establish a bequest, or if you have already done so, please complete the Bequest Intention Form and submit it to the Office of Planned Giving so that you may be welcomed as a member of the Heritage Society.

Tempietto Circle
Named for the iconic campus landmark, the Tempietto Circle recognizes Heritage Society members who make documented commitments that promise an enduring, transformative impact. If your planned gifts total $500,000 or more, you will be recognized in the Tempietto Circle section of the Heritage Society.

Why We Give

Motivated by a family value of education, Edward and Lucia Vest chose to give back to support future generations of teachers.
