Carbone and Eder
There's No Time Like the Present to Plan for the Future

After graduating with a degree in industrial and management engineering, Hank went to work for Kimberly-Clark, thanks to Rensselaer's career support services, which had matched him with the company for a co-op position during his junior year. Today, Hank is a senior research and development program leader at Ecolab, Inc. in St. Paul, Minn., and he credits Rensselaer with putting his career on the fast track. "We had access to the latest information and technology," he explains, "and the interdisciplinary approach taught me to look at the whole picture or process."

Hank also values the many organizations and programs at Rensselaer that encouraged the development of his leadership and social skills. During his years on campus, Hank was a resident assistant, a member of Lambda Chi Alpha and a participant in the professional leadership program. These and other opportunities provided him with the personal skills necessary to be successful in the professional world.

Committed to Giving Back
In addition to serving as class correspondent, Hank also has been an active financial contributor to his alma mater. He has consistently donated to Rensselaer's annual fund, demonstrating his commitment to the school's mission. He also hopes his gifts will help defray costs for students because a scholarship made his education at Rensselaer possible.

When Hank and his wife, Angela Eder, began making provisions for their two young children, Raymond and Lila, they also decided to include a gift for Rensselaer in their estate plans. Hank and Angela understand that it's never too early to secure the future for your children as well as for the institutions that you believe in and that have made a difference in your life. "It's important to me to give back to Rensselaer," says Hank, "although no amount of money could repay them for what they gave me."

If you make regular gifts to Rensselaer, we hope you will consider establishing your own permanent legacy at the Institute. You can do this now without affecting your budget or lifestyle. Please call us to learn how.
