Getting Started

    1. Contact Emma Lee McCloskey, President of The Catholic Foundation at 814.824.1236 to discuss how an endowment can perpetuate your loving support of your Diocesan ministry of interest, parish, school, or organization.

    2. Complete an endowment agreement which specifies the name of the fund and also specifies the purpose of the endowment, (unrestricted or restricted) with a minimum seed contribution of $10,000 and a commitment, current or deferred, of at least $25,000 over a three-year period of time.

    3. Transfer the cash, marketable securities or other asset to The Catholic Foundation to provide initial funding.

    4. Establish or amend your will, trust, annuity, insurance, or pension beneficiary designations as legally appropriate and kindly forward a copy of the related section to Emma Lee McCloskey, President, The Catholic Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie, 429 East Grandview Boulevard, Erie PA, 16504. You document will be stored with the utmost measure of confidentiality.

    5. Execute and fund the deferred instrument as necessary.

    6. Plan to be part of The Catholic Foundation Legacy Society if you have made your gift through a planned gift. On an annual basis, a Legacy Society event will be held to acknowledge and recognize planned giving donors. If you prefer, your gift will remain totally anonymous.
